Estamos de vuelta!!!! Visita a Segovia. We're back!!!! A visit to Segovia

My dear friends: our Nicis and I feel very happy to restart publishing again and to be with you. We missed you a lot!!!! We have read all your posts, but we haven't been able to comment you, these days have been too busy!!! That's why we beg your pardon, we hope to see all of you for a long time!!!!

Granny Mäh needed to take a relax day and she went to visit Segovia. On her arrival to the city she could admire the impressive Roman aqueduct: it is one of the ancient Spanish monuments best preserved!

The date of construction cannot be definitively determined. Researchers have placed it between the second half of the 1st Century AD and the early years of the 2nd Century. It is considered World Heritage Site by the UNESCO

She after went to visit the Cathedral, built in a late gothic style

Along her way she found a beautiful romanesque church: the church of San Andrés

Y llegó al Alcázar de Segovia
And she arrived to the Alcázar of Segovia

The Alcázar of Segovia started off as an Arab fort, but little of that structure remains. The first reference to this particular Alcázar was in 1120, around 32 years after the city of Segovia returned to Christian hands

The building has suffered lots of modifications throughout the centuries. It was only in 1882 that the building was slowly restored to its original state

This is the romanesque church of St. Martin, bult along the 12th Century

After such a beautiful walk, Granny visited a souvenirs shop

Y, por supuesto, compró una bolsa ovejil :)))
And of course, she bought a sheepy bag :)))

She got so hungry that she decided to enter a famous restaurant and eat the most famous food of Segovia: the "cochinillo" or suckling pig!!!

El cochinillo es una auténtica delicia!!!! (Granny pide perdón a nuestros amigos vegetarianos)
The Cochinillo is an authentic delicatessen!!!! (Granny feels sorry for our vegan friends)

Es hora de volver a casa. Adiós, Segovia!!! Lo he pasado muy bien
It's time to go back home. Goodbye, Segovia!!! I've had a great day here
