Rabbit Carotti viaja por Castilla (1ª parte) - Rabbit Carotti travels around Castilla (1st part)


Rabbit Carotti estaba aburrido en casa, así que cogió la Nici- moto y se fue a dar una vuelta muy-muy larga...
Rabbit Carotti was bored at home, so he took the Nici-Bike and went away to a long-long excursion


Primero viajó hasta Zaragoza, desde aquí se ve el Monasterio de Piedra, un auténtico paraíso para visitar. Otro día os enseñaré fotos de allí :)
First he travelled to the province of Zaragoza. From here you can see the Monasterio de Piedra, an authentic paradise to visit. I will show pics from there another day :)

Ya en la provincia de Guadalajara visitó la Ermita de Santa Catalina, construida en el siglo XII
When he arrived to the province of Guadalajara, he visited Santa Catalina Church, built in the 12th century


Es una pequeña iglesia perteneciente al Románico Rural. Aquí podéis ver la figura de un león
It is a little church that belongs to the Romanesque Rural style. Here you can see a lion


Ohhh, qué imagen más extraña de la Virgen!!!
Ohhh, what an extrange image of the Virgin Mary!!!


Esta iglesia pertenece un grupo de iglesias que aportan como innovación en el románico un acceso cubierto por un pórtico que se extiende por todo el lateral meridional de la nave. Esta innovación de proteger el accerso creando un espacio cerrado y abrigado nace como una necesidad dada la dureza del invierno en la zona y para albergar en ello las juntas comunales.
This church belongs to a group of churches that innovate the romanesque style with an access covered by a portico all over the southern lateral of the church. This innovation is made to shelter the communal meetings because the cold winters of the region
