Primer Aniversario - First Anniversary

Esta semana se cumple el primer aniversario de este blog. Ha sido un año maravilloso: nunca pensé que íbamos a tener más de 15.000 visitas, de más de 90 países diferentes y con 21 seguidores!!!!

El pasado fin de semana, Hetch Hogan hizo una excursión al Monasterio de Santa María de Huerta, en la provincia de Soria. Salió encantado!!!
El monasterio tiene 2 etapas constructivas principalmente: los siglos XII y XIII y los siglos XVI y XVII. En la primera se construye la planta típicamente cisterciense alrededor del claustro gótico. A la segunda etapa pertenecen el claustro herreriano, el claustro plateresco -sobre el gótico- y el coro alto entre otros locales.

Last weekend, Hetch Hogan made a trip to the Monastery of St. María de Huerta, in the province of Soria. He was astonished!!!
The monastery was built in two main stages: 12th and 13th centuries, and 16th and 17th centuries. The first stage consists of a classic Cistercian monastery built around a gothic cloister. In the second stage, amongst other buildings, and Herrera cloister (plateresque over gothic) was added, and the high choir.

La Abadía de Santo Domingo de Silos es un monasterio benedictino situado en el pueblo de Santo Domingo de Silos, en el sur de la provincia de Burgos. Su claustro de dos plantas, con grandes capiteles y paneles tallados en relieve es considerado una obra maestra del arte Románico. Los monjes de Silos se hicieron famosos internacionalmente grabando varios álbums de Canto Gregoriano.

The Abbey of Santo Domingo de Silos is a Benedictine monastery in the village of Santo Domingo de Silos in the southern part of Burgos province in northern Spain. The two-storey cloister of the monastery, which has large capitals with carved scenes, and also relief panels, is considered a masterpiece of Romanesque art. The monks of Silos became internationally famous with the issue of several Gregorial Chant albums.

Sven y Svenja han llegado!!!! Así que para celebrarlo, se fueron a pasar un fin de semana en Medinaceli.
Medinaceli es un pueblo medieval muy bonito que está en Soria. Es un pueblo con mucha historia: primero fue un pueblo ibero, que luego perteneció a los romanos: tiene un arco romano del siglo II después de Cristo, y es el único arco español con 3 arcos. En Medinaceli se escribió el Cantar del Mío Cid, por un juglar en la Edad Media. Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar, el Cid, es el héroe español más importante de la Edad Media, desempeñando un papel primordial en la Reconquista española frente a los Musulmanes.

Sven and Svenja have come!!!! So, in order to celebrate it, they spent a weekend in Medinaceli. Medinaceli is a beautiful medieval town in the province of Soria. It has a lot of history: first, it was a Celtiberic town, afterwards it belonged to the Romans: it has a Roman Arch, dated in the 2nd century a.C., and it is the only Spanish archs with three arches inside. In Medinaceli was written "El Cantar del Mío Cid", by a medieval juggler. Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar, el Cid, was the most important medieval hero, playing a main role in the Spanish Reconquest against the Muslims.
