Navidad en Madrid - Christmas time in Madrid

Durante las vacaciones de Navidad es típico recorrer el centro de Madrid, así que el castor Brandon decidió dar un largo paseo. Aquí está en la entrada de la Plaza Mayor
During Christmas Holidays it is typical to walk around the hystorical centre of Madrid, so Brandon the beaver decided to give a long walk. Here he is standing at the entrance of Plaza Mayor

Justo antes de entrar a la Plaza Mayor hay una tienda preciosa con muuuuuchos dulces. Mirad qué osito hecho con muchos mini-ositos de gominola :)
Just before entering to Plaza Mayor there is a beautiful store with lots of sweets. Look at this bear made with lots of mini-gummy bears :)

En la Plaza Mayor se coloca el mercado de Navidad, está lleno de tiendecitas preciosas!!!! Aquí Brandon está bajo la estatua de Felipe III
In Plaza Mayor is sited the Christmas market. It is full of beautiful stores!!! Here is brandon under the statue of King Felipe III

Hay muchos puestos que venden figuritas para el Belén. Son realmente bonitos!!!
There are many stores that sell figures for the Xmas crib. They are really beautiful!!

Pronto le entró hambre y se compró un típico barquillo. El traje que lleva el vendedor es el típico traje de chulapo de Madrid

Luego se montó en el tiovivo. Qué divertido!!!!

De camino hacia la Puerta del Sol vio una pastelería. Qué ricos!!!!
On his way to Puerta del Sol he saw a pastry shop. Yummmm!!!

Esta es la famosa Puerta del Sol. Está situada justo en el centro de Madrid. Su reloj marca las campanadas de fin de año :)
This is our famous Puerta del Sol. It is sited just in the centre of Madrid. Its clock is famous for ringing the bells on the night of the end of each year :)

La Calle Preciados, es la segunda calle más concurrida del mundo después de la 5ª Avenida de Nueva York!!!!
This is Preciados Street. It is the second most crowded street in the world after the 5th Avenue in NY!!!

Los pingüinos están muy contentos porque hay una chocolatina con forma de pingüino!!! Ñam!

También hay una caja de cerillas especiales para encender la chimenea y un montón de galletas de chocolate y ron!!!
There are also a box of matches, they are specially made to fire the chimney, and lots of chocolate and rum cookies!!!

El Adviento ha llegado!!! En Madrid es típico ir a la Plaza Mayor para visitar el Mercado de Navidad y comprar adornos y figuritas para el Belén. Este año se vino Jolly Princess, y se quedó alucinada con la cantidad de gente que había!!!! Ya os enseñaremos las cositas que compramos :)

Advent has come!!! In Madrid it is typical to go to Plaza Mayor (placed in the Centre of Madrid) for visiting the Christmas Market and to buy Christmas stuff and figures for the Nativity scene. This year, Jolly Princess came with us and she was astonished watching lots of people there!!! We will show you in next posts the things that we bought :)
